73rd Independence Day was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram on 14th & 15th August 2019 with great enthusiasm. As is the practice every year, awards and scholarships were distributed this year also to the deserving students to a tune of Rs.6,58,650/-for the academic year 2018-19. Students received the scholarships and awards from the hands of Swami Sashikantanandaji, Sri B.S. Prakasa Rao, Dr.G. Eswar, and Sri Venu Gopala Swamy, Alumni, Ramakrishna Mission High School and Municipal Councillor of Tadepalli Municipality. It is gratifying to note that apart from toppers, average performers and slow achievers were also given scholarships for their commendable improvement.

Ek Kadam Aur, an NGO, based in Chicago-New Delhi, conducted an Avenues’ Pilot Study at Ramakrishna Mission High School as part of its Schools Academic Enrichment program from 5th June 2019 to 15th June 2019.
Ek Kadam Aur, an NGO with its base at Chicago-New Delhi, as part of its on-going Academic Enrichment Activity at Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram organised a 10-day Communication / Entrepreneurship Course in the school auditorium during June 3-14, 2019.
To demonstrate the skills acquired by the children to parents, the school has organized an event on 29th June 2019. 150 parents attended this colourful and excited event.
As part of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Historical Chicago Addresses, Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanagaram/Vijayawada has organized a six-day ‘Dyslexia Training Program’ for primary teachers. This program which was absolutely free of cost was conducted in association with Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA), Chennai from 6th to 11th May 2019 (9:30 am to 3:30 pm) at Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram.
Free Coaching Classes on Basics in Mathematics, Telugu & English for Students of 4th to 8th Classes of different schools are being conducted from 24th April to 15th May 2019 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am in Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram. Meditation in prayer hall, exhibiting motivational videos, providing snacks and games are also part of this programme.
80 students benefited by participating in this program.
A Parents’ Meeting was conducted on 28th April 2019 at Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram, Tadepalli Mandal, Guntur District.
Swami Shukadevanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Chennai, Swami Satyajnananandaji, Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, Swami Sevyanandaji, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanagaram and Swami Sannivasanandaji, Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanagaram and Sri Ch. Sudhakar, Head Master, Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram addressed the parents. 332 parents & staff took part in the meeting and made it a grand success.
Parents have expressed their utmost satisfaction for overall performance of their wards during the academic year.
A Special Event was organized by Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram, Tadepalli Mandal, Guntur District on 20th April 2019. Shri Vijaya Sarathi, Retd. Hydro Geologist, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh addressed the students on a topic “Water Management”. He advised the students that it is essential to convert rain water into ground water which can be preserved for future generations. He also stated that 40% of rain water evaporates and another 40% flows into rivers, 10% is caught by the soil itself and remaining 10% is reaching the ground from which we are trying to get water for our use through bore pumps.
He stressed that it is inevitable to adopt the “rain water harvesting system” on a large scale to overcome the water shortage problems in future.Students and Staff felt very happy for getting awareness about water conservation. About 670 students and 50 Teachers attended the meeting.
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) picks up some good schools every year and encourage the student community by awarding ‘LIC Student of the Year’ trophies. Recently two senior LIC officers happened to visit Ramakrishna Mission High School and got impressed by the type of Comprehensive Education the children are receiving in a rural based setting. They discussed at length with the Monks of the Ramakrishna Mission and understood that the school is following a systematic approach for imparting Values to the students and an evaluation system is in place to ascertain how children are imbibing values. They have shown their keenness to encourage the students who excelled in Value Education during the year 2018. During the Morning Assembly session on Saturday, 9th March 2019, Mr.K.Srinivas, LIC Branch Manager, Governorpet, Vijayawada presented thirty trophies along with certificates to the students who are the class-wise toppers in Value Education during the year 2018. Subsequently the school has received a message from LIC, “The morning session was really great. We feel privileged and honored to be part of it.”
Three of our students named Chi. Yamini Nagankitha G (VII), Baby Bhavyasri P (IV), Bhagyasri P (III) were presented certificates along with a book titled ‘Ekagratha Rahasyam’ for their participation in ‘Janapada Nrutyakalotsavam’ held at Rajahmundry on 24th February 2019.
Most Revered Swami Shivamayanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission visited our school on 06 February, 2019, the foundation day of Vijayawada Ashrama and the Jayanti of Swami Brahmanandaji Maharaj. He garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda and addressed the students and teachers in Auditorium. He advised the students to become responsible citizens. He stressed that the teachers should harmonize their professional life and personal life and become role models to the student community. He felicitated Smt. K. Padmaja and Sri T. Ramakrishna, Telugu Medium teachers, Ramakrishna Mission High School, who are going to retire. Students who stood first in the competitions conducted by Times of India and Tadepalli Municipality received prizes through his hands.
A few well-wishers from ‘The LIC of India’, Governorpet Branch, Vijayawada, distributed study materials for Physical Science, Natural Science and Social Studies subjects to 41 students of IX class (Telugu Medium) on 08th March 2019 on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
On the eve of ‘National Science Day’ on 28.02.2019, Ramakrishna Mission High School has organized a Science Exhibition in the school campus.
