As part of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Historical Chicago Addresses, Teachers’ Convention was held on Sunday, 30th December 2018, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanagaram, Guntur District. 72nd Independence Day was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram on 15th August 2018 with great enthusiasm. As is the practice every year, Awards and Scholarships were distributed this year also to the deserving students to the tune of Rs.3,44,000/- for the academic year 2017-18. Students received the scholarships and awards from the hands of Sri K. Lakshmi Narasayya and Dr.E.S.Prabhakar. It is gratifying to note that apart from toppers, average performers and slow achievers were also given scholarships for their commendable improvement.
Belur Math is the Headquarters of world-wide Ramakrishna Math and Mission Order. After completing the SSC examinations, the X class students of our school visit Belur Math, and other places of interest in and around Kolkata. Students have the first-hand experience of Ramakrishna Math and Mission with this tour. During this tour, they get an opportunity to get the blessings and guidance of eminent Monks of the Order. They also visit the birth places of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Dev, Sri Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Apart from these, they visit Birla Institute of Technological Museum, Science City, Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum, Birla Planetarium, Acharya J.C.Bose Botanical Gardens, Alipore Zoo Park etc.
A few students were selected based on their overall conduct, personality, academic excellence in the specified academic year and arranged an educational tour to Chennai in 2016-’17 and 2017-’18 academic years.
Bharataratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India visited our Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram and interacted with our students on 3rd April 2008. Dr. Kalam in his message to the students advised them to acquire knowledge which has 3 components namely creativity, righteousness and courage.
